Downtown Loft - Renovation

A young professional couple has just bought this beautiful converted loft downtown. The couple loves to entertain and wanted the space to reflect this but still wants the functionality of a family home as they hope to have children in the coming years. They love the historical relevance of the building and the large outdoor space.

project scope
An open floor plan will be used in this design to utilize the many windows letting in plenty of natural light and brings the outdoors in with the large outdoor space. Because this building has history the couple would like to incorporate the industrial feel in their design and add in dramatic colors and textures. The master bedroom will be place so that the couple can have a private balcony at the back of the condo with a master bathroom and his & hers walkin closets. A large office with a bathroom onsuite and large walkin closet will serve as guest bedroom and in the future will be a perfect bedroom to use for their growing family. The laundry room will have a counter for folding and ironing and will have plenty of storage. Space for their grand piano was a must and will be situated in the open living space between the living room and dining room with a floor to ceiling book shelf. A wet bar and wine fridge will be located in the dining room which will be able to seat 8 comfortably. The living room will have 2 large sofas and 2 comfortable chairs for guest to relax in and listen to music and will open to an outdoor living space with a firepit. The kitchen will have a nice island and plenty of light and will open to an outdoor dining space with a grill for bbq’ing and plenty of greenery.
