Front Entry Facelift

It is always fun to look back at homes we have owned and see all the things we did to make it our own. Today I am talking about a dated 2 story entranceway that was transformed into an entrance with a statement.

This entrance although nice was a bit blah and I wanted to add a little oomph. Originally we were just going to install the hardwood in the upper level but like so many project this one took on a life of itself. It was important to pick something that would look good with both the 2nd level hardwood but also the white tile on the main level.

The minute I saw this carpet I knew it was the one! The pattern was beautiful and surprisingly neutral and would wear well.

To compliment the stairs I chose to do a two toned railing and spindles. My painter was not thrilled but it turned out amazing!
